I know the thought of the holidays seem so far away but in reality, they’re just around the corner, especially when we need to plan our holiday online marketing campaigns. Yes, I know it’s still July but most people wait until the last minute to plan their online marketing and promotional programs and don’t leave enough time to do it properly. So, let’s get your brain churning on what you’d like to do for your holiday online marketing campaigns. A lot can be involved in getting a campaign up and running so starting the process now is a great idea so you are not scrounging at the last minute.

Here are 10 things to keep in mind when planning your online holiday promotional campaigns.

  1. What products or services will you promote?
  2. Will you need specific landing pages for each product or service?
  3. When will your online marketing campaign start? When will it end?
  4. Will you need content written to drive search engine traffic to these campaigns or landing pages?
  5. Will you use pay per click marketing to drive traffic such as Google Adwords?
  6. Do you know what your competitors are doing for their online promotions?
  7. Do you have a mailing list you can send your promotional campaigns to?
  8. Do you have a blog where you can write about your holiday promotions?
  9. Are your promotional items priced correctly? Can you make quick adjustments if needed?
  10. Do you have metrics in place to measure the success of your campaigns so you can make improvements for next year?

At the very least get this on your to do list and keep it on the back burner. The holidays will creep up on us before we know it and you don’t want to give your competitors any advantages.
